Nerd- and geekery-themed and inspired cocktails for all of your drinking game; viewing party; or themed shindig needs.

Lady Sparkle
Every year during her gay Dads’ Oscar party, Rachel would look on with wonder as the adults drank pink wine coolers. She began to associate Lady Sparkle with the glamour of the red carpet! It’s no wonder that when she hosts her very own party in her Fathers’ basement, it’s her go-to drink. Lady Sparkle is a dainty looking drink that packs quite a punch, not unlike our own Rachel Berry, which is why this drink should be your go-to Glee cocktail.

Mix 3 parts Mike’s Hard Strawberry Lemonade with 1 part Rosé Champagne and serve! If you want to add a little more punch, garnish with a slice of lemon.

Cocktail Recipe: Tardis’ Arrival

thegaysha:

This drink, inspired by the sometimes explosive arrival of the Tardis combines the basic concept of a Sake Bomb with the fun of Doctor Who.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Pint (475 ml) Beer (use of any artisan brand is recommended)
  • 1 Shot (~25 ml to ~75 ml) of Blue Curaçao

Directions:

Pour beer into a pint glass and Blue Curaçao into a shot glass. Drop the shot glass into the pint and consume immediately.

The Nerd Cocktail Ladies have not taste-tested this, but A+ for concept execution.

Cocktail Recipe: Coruscant Cooler

thegaysha:

This is inspired from a drink mentioned in the Star Wars franchise. For a more exotic taste, I’ve substituted wine with baekhwaju, but any other Korean flower wine such as gukhwaju (mostly found under the name Chun Kook), maewhaju, dohwaju or indongju would work

Ingredients:

  • ⅓ c. (150 ml.) Baekhwaju
  • ¼ c. (100 ml.) Chilled Pineapple juice
  • 1 tsp. Lemon Juice
  • ¼ c. (100 ml.) Tonic Water

Note: Recipe can easily be increased. Just multiply ingredients in equal parts as needed

Directions:

Pour all ingredients over ice and a lime wedge. For a nice touch of authenticity, an orchid flower may be placed atop the finished drink prior to serving.

*** Baekhwaju literally means “100 Flower Alcohol” and is made from distilling 100 varieties of flowers.

Whip up a bunch of these and be the toast of CoCo Town!

Ingredients
1 Tall shot glass
1 Maraschino cherry
Splash of grenadine
2 parts booze of choice

Red Shirt Shot
It’s your first week aboard the Enterprise and Captain Kirk has selected you to join the away mission to a hostile alien planet! You’re excited to have your first assignment outside of the academy, but wait, no one knows your name and you’re wearing a red shirt? Looks like you could use a drink. This quick and dirty drink exemplifies the finality and doom of what will be your first and last mission with Kirk and his Legendary crew. The cherry represents your mortality, that is, unless you can catch it in time to save yourself from choking on certain death and live to serve another day.
In a shot glass place one cherry (with stem to increase your chances of catching it in time to not choke), fill to half way up the cherry with grenadine, then the rest of the way with whatever you have that’s cheap and close at hand; you don’t have time to be picky!

UPDATE: We are currently in our secret booze laboratory, wrapping up preliminary testing.

As a testament to how hard we’re working, we’re all pretty damn drunk and discussing Adventure Time.

Come Wednesday, we will have our first posting.

Until then: stay nerdy, companions.
